Blaktīm ir dūrējtipa mutes orgāns - tāda caurule, kuru viņas iedzen vai nu augā, vai arī upurī (kukainī vai, gultas blakšu gadījumā, cilvēkā) un sūc suliņas.
Laupītājblaktis ir plēsīgas un "dur" citus kukaiņus.

Viena no laupītājblakušu sugām ir specializējusies uz termītu patērēšanu uzturā. Termīti dzīvo savos pūžņos un tik lēti ārā nenāk un citus iekšā nelaiž.

"The S. variegata nymphs, however, have taken their strategy one step further than the lacewing larvae studied by Eisner et al. (1978). They slowly approach a termite nymph engaged in nest repair, stab it with their beak, and then withdraw away from the nest opening to suck the prey contents out. Leaving the prey carcass on the end of its beak, the reduviid nymph then slowly approaches the termite workers again and waves the termite carcass at them. Because termites eat their dead nestmates to recover their valuable nitrogen content (Moore, 1969), a termite worker grabs for the carcass, but while doing so is itself grabbed by the reduviid nymph and quickly hauled away and impaled."
