"Britain has rejected an appeal for asylum from Asia Bibi, the Pakistani Christian acquitted of blasphemy last week who is under the threat of death from Islamic leaders who struck a deal with her government to block her exit.

The British government said allowing Bibi to enter the U.K. would cause unrest among Muslims, according to an advocate, the Huffington Post reported."

I think, however, it is good that it happened. The BBC World Service led with this news item (when she was freed). I think it was to show the new moderate face of Pakistan (they didn't cover the reason for her freedom was the unreliable testimony of a couple of her accusers). What was she supposed to have done? Drunk form the same glass of water, wasn't it?

But it is good because it shows to reasonable people that it is absolutely undeniable that Muslim pressure (either at official political level or unofficial street level) is affecting the decisions of the UK government in a clearly negative way.

Is it islamophobic to point this out?

Yea it was some technicality about drinking from the wrong glass at some event or something like that.
Of course you will be labeled an islamophobe if you point out that majority of pakis are basically savages from the viewpoint of supposedly liberal and democratic West. By rejecting an asylum claim they are tacitly gesturing that they don't believe Pakistan to be backwards hellholes, where people are being casually murdered for religious reasons. They do honestly point out that the fear of "muslim unrest" is also taken into account though. This is yet another step in normalizing the savagery of people, who happen to be darkies. Muslim unrests are part and parcel of modern Western country and should be dealt with utmost tolerance and respect towards different culture even if it means abandoning everything that Western ideals entail. Recent ECHR's ruling on blasphemous women is also very clear signal that liberalism in West is a thing of past.
