I think, however, it is good that it happened. The BBC World Service led with this news item (when she was freed). I think it was to show the new moderate face of Pakistan (they didn't cover the reason for her freedom was the unreliable testimony of a couple of her accusers). What was she supposed to have done? Drunk form the same glass of water, wasn't it?
But it is good because it shows to reasonable people that it is absolutely undeniable that Muslim pressure (either at official political level or unofficial street level) is affecting the decisions of the UK government in a clearly negative way.
Is it islamophobic to point this out?
