Anonymous, The Cloud of Unknowing, Prologue

14. gs. oriģināls
(https://web.archive.org/web/20131010134218/http://www.lib.rochester.edu/camelot/teams/cloud.htm):
Fleschely janglers, opyn preisers and blamers of hemself or of any other, tithing tellers, rouners and tutilers of tales, and alle maner of pinchers, kept I never that thei sawe this book.

1922. g. Evelinas Anderhilas (Underhill) neliels modernizējums:
Fleshly janglers, open praisers and blamers of themselves or of any other, tellers of trifles, ronners and tattlers of tales, and all manner of pinchers, cared I never that they saw this book.

viņa ievadā skaidro: 'ronner' = a gossiper, a tale-bearer; 'pincher' = a covetous or niggardly person;
'jangler' = no vārdnīcas: Someone who, or something that jangles; A chatterer; Someone who argues noisily.
'fleshly' = šeit 'worldly'.

1961. g. Kliftona Voltersa (Wolters) tulkojums:
I do not mind at all if the loud-mouthed, or flatterers, or the mock-modest, or fault-finders, gossips, tittle-tattlers, talebearers, or any sort of grumbler, never see this book.

2011. g. Karmenas Batčeres (Carmen A. Butcher) tulkojums (jūtams, ka tulkotājai tai dienā bijusi iedvesma):
I hope that habitual gossips, boasters, flatterers, fault-finders, busybodies, whisperers, liars, and character assassinators never see this book.
