One step further:

the Global Anti-Corruption Consortium is funded by USAID (more than half), the US State Department, Open Society Foundations (George Soros), the UK Goverment, and others.
The Investigative Journalism for Europe (IJ4EU) fund is funded by Open Society Foundations (George Soros), the European Union, and various German foundations.
Journalismfund is funded by the European Union and various Belgian NGOs.

Those are only a few steps removed from the individual NGO node, and the information is all there on those "About Us" pages. It is a vast, interlocking network of organisations, sub-organisations, money flows and donors who somehow all support the same exact agenda. Individual sums are not enormous, but they are everywhere, and they add up to colossal amounts.

However, a lot of that money comes from a few large sources like USAID, the National Endowment for Democracy, Open Society Foundations, and the EU. Cutting off one or two of the money streams will force a lot of these outfits into survival mode. The entire network will shrink and lose a lot of power.

Arī pavisam jaunās paaudzes rakstnieki turpina uzskatīt (tikko vienu pieķēru), tāpat kā uzskatījām "mēs" 1980.-1990. gados, - ka "mēļš" ir maigi rozā vai bēšīgs ("mēļu rožu pušķis").

Vajadzētu atcerēties pārbaudīt vēl pēc gadiem 25, vai šis turpinās.

Intuitīvi šķiet, ka "mēļš" vajadzētu nākt no latīņu 'malva', franču un angļu 'mauve'. Bet tā neesot gan:
'mēļš' = from the same stem as melns (q.v.): Proto-Baltic *mel-n, from Proto-Indo-European *mel- (“dark, red color; dirty”). Interestingly, the same stem gave rise to blue- and black-color terms in Baltic languages. Cognates include Lithuanian dialectal mė́las (“blue”).
