have spent a lifetime traveling the world in an attempt to capture the universal human spirit through my photographs. On January 2, 2000 my life was nearly cut short during a horrific bus accident on a remote jungle road in Laos. As I lay there for ten hours suffering from massive internal injuries, including collapsed lungs, a broken back and other assorted bones, it was eventually apparent that I was not going to make it out of this situation alive.
