So too is Greek Μοῦσα (Aeolic Μοῖσα) 'Muse', daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne 'Memory': Proto-Greek *montwa from *mon-tu-h, cf. Vedic mantu-, amantu- '(un)caring, (un)mindful'. The inspiration of the divine Muse is thus only a personification of the trained mind of the poet."
