Right now it does look that way. Their healthcare system is definitely going to get repealed, I'm hearing from my colleagues in the US that the already cramped budget for research institutions could get severely abridged, and, now that Republicans control all three of the government branches, who even knows what new executive orders and laws could get passed that couldn't before.

There isn't really a left/right divide in the world's politics anymore, only forward/backward.
