Only four out of ten environmentalists see self-sufficiency and having a job as "important"
20 October 2021 at 13.45

The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise recently released a report showing that four of Sweden's ten million inhabitants provide for the nation. This made Timbro take a closer look at the attitudes to work among the various parties' sympathizers.

The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise's report also showed that 1.3 million people of working age in Sweden are not self-sufficient - every fourth person aged 20-64. The situation is said to be serious for welfare, security and prosperity and threatens to tear the country apart. It reduces growth, complicates companies' supply of skills and weakens Sweden's competitiveness.

When Demoskop asks the question how important it is to consider that others support themselves through work, 78 percent answer that it is very important. At the same time, the difference between right and left is great.

While the Conservative bloc plus the Liberals consider it important, fewer think so among the red-greens where only a little more than one in four environmentalists and leftists agree.

Approximately the same pattern is repeated when Demoskop asks the question about the view of the relationship between salary and benefits.

Another issue was about salary and benefits in relation to the possibilities of reducing exclusion.
