We have Roman Bridges that are still standing, yet the bridges that were built 60 years ago all need to be replaced now.
We have Cathedrals that are 1000 years old, yet the Churches that were build 60 years ago have leaking roofs and structural problems.
But what is even worse, all the roofs of the medieval Cathedrals in Germany will need to be replaced, because they painted the wooden roof framework with a fireproof coating, the chemicals of which are now eating the wood.
There are also a lot medieval Castles in Germany that are close to collapsing because they were "restored" in the 20th century with plaster that now damages the entire structure.
