Sweden now worst in Western Europe on gang shootings: "We have been naive"

DOMESTIC. Sweden is now the worst in the whole of Western Europe when it comes to the number of young people involved in gang shooting. This is what the criminologist Ardavan Khoshnood says in SVT Aktuellt. But why that is, he can't really answer.
Young people (read immigrants) between the ages of 15-29 in Sweden are more involved in gang shootings and shooting deaths than in any other country in Western Europe.
This is according to Ardavan Khoshnood, a criminologist at Malmö University.
When the SVT reporter wonders why this is so, he has no answer.
- "We don't know. Unfortunately, there is no research on this", he says, but speculates that it is due to a large availability of weapons. Another reason is probably that in Sweden "we have been incredibly naive for a very, very long time to address this issue."
According to Khoshnood, there are some people who "have screamed themselves hoarse" (read SD and evil nazis) for decades about the problem but were not taken seriously at all by the rulers.
However, Denmark is much better at stopping the crime. Sweden has a privacy law that prevents authorities from sharing information, so it is not in the neighboring country. Denmark also has tougher laws with, for example, visitation zones.
