The sexualisation of kids is pretty disgusting to me, be it through heterosexually through standard contemporary pop music or LTBQFU - though as a father of two daughters, maybe I'm more sensitive to it. I remember waiting for my daughter at Arkadijas Stadions, and a dance troupe of girls in the early teens started practising a routine in front of me. I didn't know where to look.
I remember some uber conservative Latvian psychologist mentioning that girls who don't have fathers around tend to look for sexual approval from men at an early age. It could be true: my daughter has a friend whose father left the family when she was about 6. She joined a dance troupe, whose routines are pretty sexually provocative, and she carried it over into her behaviour generally. Pretty sad, really.
