In an unprecedented move, Hamburg authorities confiscated six residential units in the Hamm district near the city center. A trustee appointed by the city is now renovating the properties and will rent them — against the will of the owner — to tenants chosen by the city. District spokeswoman Sorina Weiland said that all renovation costs will be billed to the owner of the properties.
Similar expropriation measures have been proposed in Berlin, the German capital, but abandoned because they were deemed unconstitutional.
Some Germans are asking what is next: Will authorities now limit the maximum amount of living space per person, and force those with large apartments to share them with strangers?

I consider this incline. Why should only lower income people pay the price for "Willkommenskultur"?

Furthermore if the rich are feeling negative effects too that only increases overall resistance by giving that section of society a personal reason to oppose it too.

You know they almost never build asylum seeker housing in the upscale neighborhoods, and the young Mohammeds go to the public schools were they live i.e. not were the kids of higher income people go, higher income people also rarely use public transportation, shop and spend their free time in different places etc. etc.

Really if you have money in this country you are almost completely sheltered from all the wonderful diversity, which partially explains the voting behavior of those classes. Every "open society" measure which hits them for a change I applaud. It is a question of social justice :smug:

No taisnīgas, pilsoniskas valsts viedokļa tas jebkurā gadījumā ir absurds un virziens totalitārisma virzienā, taču, ja tas var ietekmēt parasti neietekmējamos un vienlaikus tos, kas vis aktīvāk cenšās uzdoties par labiņajiem uz citu rēķina.. well then.
