Their mantra of "never again" has been taken very seriously by them. They have pulled out all of the stops to ensure that there is never another pogrom, but history repeats itself and their ambition of cheating karma is doomed to fail, eventually. The longer they defer spiritual justice, the more spectacular will be the reckoning. The particulars of that happening will be the manifest answer to your question.
