I've actually seen this play out both here and in other places before, and it's always the same scenario.
First, you take some big, established party and have it push green deal shit. It's not hard because these tend to be in lockstep with EU, even though only "moderately" (lol). These parties then run everything into shit (naturally – EU directives leave no other outcomes). Sooner or later, the people will have enough and want a change. That's what you've been waiting for, and when you reveal your REAL horse in this race – some ultra progressive shithead party that so far has mostly kept itself on the sidelines with low preferences. You'll use the media to present it as a large opponent to the "corrupt" established party, as a force for change full of young people brimming with ideas and zeal, something that'll change ("change" tends to be a pretty common catchphrase) the country and save it from sinking. Thanks to the media pushing it so hard, they'll usually win. Those will then put all the cancerous shit on turbo. They'll go above and beyond the call of duty to really shit the country up, from totalitarian laws to state-approved eko-terrorism to utter surrendering of any remaining state sovereignity to the EU. Next elections, the voters will probably feel burned by their choice, become heavily sceptical of these "new" parties, and vote for the established party they voted for earlier because hey – in comparison, they weren't so bad, right? In the meantime, the old party underwent a restructuring that made them a lot more woke, but not as woke as the jesters that are about to get voted out. Thus, you will continue marching towards the left-wing dystopia. Rinse and repeat.
