It is vanity to wish for long life and to care little about a well-spent life.

Apart from health-related issues (which are perfectly within the concern of transhumanists), "well-spent" seems to be somewhat subjective.

As to "accusations" of vanity, I am perfectly content with them and accept them. Humility must have some other purpose than itself.
