As you have probably heard, Larry King is about to retire, and CNN is scrambling to find a replacement. It is truly the end of an era. Just think of all the celebrities, business people, and politicians who have sat in the chair across from Larry King, and answered questions that probed as deeply as those of a five-year-old’s. Who will be able to pick up the torch and carry on the important work of the interviewer that boasted never having prepared for an interview?
Larry King’s show was the only safe place on television where the famous did not have to worry about hardball questions, and could go to promote their movie or agenda. He will be missed by many, and hopefully CNN can find someone who can fill those suspenders.
