"75% of NYC's top high schools are filled by Asian students, many of whom came from extremely poor working class families in Chinatown, have immigrant parents who speak little to no English. All they do is get a workbook and study hard instead of joining gangs, playing video games or sports. They spend their $25 on a workbook rather than $100 on a pair of new sneakers or video game. People who do well on the SAT or other standardized tests are just smarter and/or more motivated, plain and simple. Equality does not mean equal outcome.

Back when Jews were knocking at the doors of the Ivy League trying to get in, they excelled in the SAT and the SAT was seen as the great equalizer. Now that Jews are running academia and the Ivy League, and form a large % of their alumni, they want to ensure that their children have a greater chance of getting admitted. Suddenly the SAT is a poor indicator of aptitude, that it's unfair etc. It can't go both ways. As I've said many times, "holistic admissions" used to be Harvard speak for "Too many Jews", now it's Harvard speak for "Too many Asians"."
