i wonder how this 60 seconds of peace thing will work out. i highly doubt many radio/television stations will stop airing. it would be great if they did though, because radio and television suck immensely. well i will probably observe this 60 seconds for peace, considering i will probably be peacefully asleep at 11am :) Saturday 27 December 200321:00:00 UTC (GMT) If you are reading this document, a friend or colleague or concerned world citizen is asking for your support. Please read the following with an open heart. What is "60 Seconds for Peace"? The idea is simple: "We the People" of the world are establishing a 60-second pause for peace in as many communities as possible across the globe all on the same day, all at the same time. Sixty seconds of silence to Think, Reflect, Pray or Meditate on Peace. Our Vision:Our vision is simple: At precisely the same moment on 27 December 2003, at least one billion people will stop to think about peace. Every place of business or commerce will pause for 60 seconds. Every radio and television station will pause for 60 seconds. Every person in motion will pause for 60 seconds. And think about peace. We trust that the simplicity of this event will allow organizations and communities around the world to create their own way of honoring the idea of peace for 60 seconds. Scheduled Date for 2003 The "60 Seconds for Peace" is scheduled for the following time worldwide: Saturday, December 27, 2003 11:00 a.m. Hawaii12 noon Alaska1:00 p.m. Pacific US2:00 p.m. Mountain US3:00 p.m. Central US4:00 p.m. Eastern US5:00 p.m. Alaska6:00 p.m. Buenos Aires7:00 p.m. Sao Paulo9:00 p.m. London10:00 p.m. Paris11:00 p.m. Jerusalem12 midnight Moscow
