We've been raising boys like girls for a while now. School has them sitting down for hours on end every day, and then they're prescribed Ritalin if they act restless. They're not allowed to roughhouse either. Even the focus on group projects over individual schoolwork promotes agreeableness and cooperation (feminine traits) over self-sufficiency and independent thought (masculine traits).
More broadly, we've been encouraging men to abdicate their traditional responsibilities of fatherhood and leading the nuclear family. Sexual liberation, pushing women into the workforce, increasing the size of the welfare state, and promoting no-fault divorce have all encouraged men to not bother with family and focus on hobbies instead.
