second day at band camp
Gosh, I was so freakin' grumpy at the end of the day. My mom kept getting angry at me while I tried on the uniform...which, I should mention, in the freakin' jacket, I've gone up from number 19 to number 32, what's that say? It was so annoying. Then I freaked out at my mom telling her it was ALL her fault, and she said she can't help genetics and... and so on. You can guess what this ish about. But...UGH!!!! I was not happy.I actually saw Jessica today! Coolness. I was yelling at Amanda (Muenier, not cool freshman Amanda) and Jessica was there with her dad, and she's like "Hi, I'm Jessica, I'm in 10th grade" and Amanda's like "Us too, I'm Amanda and this is Jordan!" and Amanda was pissing me off, so I'm like, yep, hi, you're in band, gotta go, nice to meet you, and I was yelling at Amanda before realizing "Wait. Jessica. 10th grade. DUH!"So I went up and told Cay and Meredith (and Margaret came along) and we go back down to Jessica, and I'm like "are you Jessica Sweeney?" And it was like DUH JEG! DUH!!! It took my brain a bit to kick in, that's for sure. She looks different...I guess I'm stuck on the 4th grade image of her and Chelsea after a dance recital, you know? And of course she doesn't look just like that anymore. I don't look like I did when I was in the 4th grade...sure, you can tell it's the same person, but really, people change. No duh. But I always do that when I picture people I haven't seen for a while. So, basically, when she smiles, you can tell it's Jessica. Which is good. So I've met her (again) before the play. And I saw her little brother...gosh, he has gotten big! Of course, I still remember him when he was little, you know?On a different note, I have to annouce that there is a significant lack of new male Navy kids in the band. This is very sad. I hope they're all just holding out until school starts. Because, as we all know, Navy kids rock.
