One of these applications that have long been a partner of web designers and developers in providing professional and quality web sites through the application of quality web tools is Macromedia. There are different techniques and means to make your web site click with your target audience. And one of the ways to do so is to make your words seem to dissolve before your very eyes. Below is a step-by-step process for dissolving words, provided by a web designer expert:Step 1: Type the textThe first step to make is to type in your text that you're going to dissolve on its own separate layer. For example, I'll use GRANNY for this tutorial. Type in GRANNY, and then provide a title to this layer so you won't get confused later on.Step 2: Convert your textAfter typing your text, convert it into a movie clip symbol. You could do this in two ways: click Insert > Convert to Symbol. Or you could press F8. Name the movie clip symbol. Afterwards, double click on the name in the Library (Ctrl-L) to edit it.Step 3: Create layersIn your symbol's timeline, create a number of layers equal to the number of letters of the word you're going to dissolve. So for the word GRANNY, there should be 6 layers. Name each layer according to the letters of your word. The first layer would be named G, second layer as R, and so on and so forth.Step 4: Break your wordSelect your word and break it apart. Press Ctrl-B.Step 5: Select and convert your letters to symbolsSelect your first letter in your word then press F8 to convert it to symbol. Name it something like "letter G", G being the first letter of our word. Cut it from the layer and paste it into its corresponding layer. Press Ctrl-Shift-V. This will also ensure that the word will paste into place. For this step, you should remember to zoom in a little bit. It is also important that you select the whole letter which will make it easier. For repeating letters (like the A and N in our word), you need to name the second letter something like "letter_G2", or something to that effect. At this time, you should be able to have each letter on its own separate layer.Step 6: Create a frame for the layersDepending on how fast you want your word to dissolve, create a frame on all of the layers. The easier way to do this is to select the desired frame on your top layer, hold down Shift, then select it on your bottom layer. This way, all your layers will be selected.Step 7: Let your creative juices flowBe creative with your letters. For example, for your first letter, move it away from the word, scale it, rotate it. There are a lot of possibilities. Play with your letters and have fun. Do whatever you feel like doing to all of your letters.
