A Nation without its own language isn’t valuable.

To start with, I’d like to say that the nation without its native language is worthless.
If some nation has accepted a foreign language it has also accepted different traditions, and so lost its individuality. Let’s take the USA, which is formed from very different nations with different languages. And these nations have wiped out different languages of Native Americans who we call American Indians.

Speaking about Latvian language, there are words, which have been derived from English, Russian or some other languages, but still I’m happy because Latvia has got its own language. I live in Latvia; I can speak with my relatives and other people around. I have read that many languages disappear moreover they are almost forgotten. Of course maybe after some time Latvian language will be among these so called “dead languages” because of our negative natural icrease of Latvians (we die more than born). I would like to mention, Livonian language. Only a few people all over the world speak Livonian language. They live in different places over whole world; they meet sometimes to discuss how they are living, they sometimes celebrate something together but that’s all.

Whereas there is a language, which is very popular like the English language. In Australia and the USA people also speak English but it is quite different in grammar and spelling from the variant spoken in the United Kingdom. In these countries people speak English because their countries have had a historical contact with the United Kingdom.

The most important thing in all nations is respect, people must respect their language, keep it clean from slang and other stuff which changes language. Of course it wouldn’t be good if language is old fashioned, without anything new. The best one is midway between these both aspects.

apm. taa
