Pirate Festival, Hampton, VA
yeah, that's right - A PIRATE FESTIVAL - and it was so f'n awesome, lemme tell you!but first thing's first. we had a KFC demo earlier this afternoon. i felt fine this morning, but around the time i got there i couldn't stop yawning. i wasn't tired, had eaten, was well hydrated. after about five minutes of holding a banner with robyn i started seeing spots, my stomach felt tight, and my throat felt closed. i was going to pass out! ugh, what the hell. that never happens to me. so i tried to suck it up of course, finally switching out of holding a banner for a poster. i was on the ground choking out Boycott KFC when i could, until i gave up. or rather others made me. i went to the store, got some water, then waited back at the car for the others.vroom off to hampton where we ate ethiopian and i drank a lot more water. outside people from the pirate festival were strolling around so it made for perfect people spying. it was so fun! we couldn't wait to be done and walk around. why was there a pirate festival?click here for all the high tales and death of one-time native Blackbeard.so we strolled the paths, robyn and philip looking for the perfect pirate flag to hang from their balcony, and oh! i got this small wooden pirate hanging handmade by a very nice man (out of a recycled 35 year old oak fence). mmK so i just took a picture so you all could just see it:but i digress, here's the festival:The Great Pirate Ship, matey!this is me pretending my two fingers are hooks and i'm saying "arrrrrr"all the boats along the dock were gussied up for this!the peasant bandlord of the flies - aka mass child pirate dueling in front of the peasant bandOMG look how derranged this kid looks!!remember to say grace - hot dogs for JESUS!Drench a Wench!roll playing - this 'tart' is about to get drenched with water from a bucket, but alas, blondie had bad aim and the pirate-trash got it instead. now. i was very disappointed with the results of this because the tart was HAWTTT and i think it should have turned into a wet-dress contest. but that's just me.this is where it started to get boring and we left - but i thought it was a decent picture, so i included it.now walk the plank.THE END.
