The Hunt

'This is an old traditional folk song from Khorassan, Iran. There is a lot of play on words here mostly for the rhythmic impact which makes it challengeing to translate. It is basically the story of a hunter told from his own perspective, who goes on a hunt one day with a friend. On the hunt he describes to his friends that everything he sees, from the mountains to all the animals he comes upon, remind him of his Beloved. Seeing his Beloved in all things, he cannot bring himself to kill a single creature.'
