Keep it moovin'
"My approach to painting honors the connection between my mind, body and spirit. These aspects are inseperable and must all be activated in order to support the creative flow. As a child, my favourite activities were climbing trees, swiming, jumping on trampolines, and doing gymnastics. These activities brought me joy and made my soul alive. Today I understand how movement is key ingredient in my creative process. It not only makes me feel good, but it directly supports my ability to open up, energize, and channel creative energy through my body and into my artwork. Without a way to realise it, holding tension in your body can lead to tension in your mind, such as the fear of doing something "wrong" or general frustration. Physical tension can also find its way into your brushstrokes. To meep your energy moving, take breaks while you paint. If you are able, get your body and breath in motion. A quick walkmaround the block or a thirty second dance party has the powdr to re-energize your body that are fun and feel good for you."
