I have an issue with English people in UK who always want me to smile. it's horrible! they are not that funny, you know.. and no one is so special that I would want to smile 24/7. and also, I have to be nice and polite.. being a Latvian girl, it took me a while to learn some manners.

true true - but I am talking about something else - a particular combination of good humour and taste that is aspired to here, and which is just as inane and debilitating as the demands to "Cheer up, sweetheart!" you get in Blighty

I know what you mean. I'm just saying that there isn't a perfect place for normal people. this constant cheering up is tiring too.

Jap, normāli cilvēki pārsvarā ir nīgri un nepatīkami. Viņi sometimes smaida, bet vienalga izskatās atņirgušies. :))
