I've always tried to keep an open mind and get rid of all stereotypes, BUT -

MEN can be just FUCKING IDIOTS when it comes to long term relationships!

did you see an 'ALL' anywhere there?
if it says 'MEN' it tends to mean a general standart that is over 50% of the population at large.

so in this case the statement refers to a mass of unknown 'MEN' which make up more than 50% of the whole male species

oh, and by the way - time span also is a relative variable that is incorporated into this statement - since it is covers not just a single point in time, but is meant as a stereotype that covers all ages (though not all races and species)

so if at one point in your life you were an idiot when it came to a long term relationship, then you too have been included into this statement even if you have grown wiser since then

oh yeah, I totally agree that I have been an UTTER idiot in my relationships and probably still am. bet the point is that any general statement about large groups of people are rarely true.
although in this particular case I think I agree on the fact that women usually are smartest and well... better at long term relationships and all the stuff that comes with it.
though... I know girls that are SUCH bitches!!! the word "relationship" gives them creeps, still they commit for it, and then cheat on the first chance. I hope these kind of people will all burn in hell. (I am not talking about the free spirits here, who dont make the commitment - they play a fair game).
yeah... I guess I could talk for hours about this...
