Gogol Bordello – Trans-Continental Hustle (2010) |
[Apr. 22nd, 2010|12:50 am] |
The eagerly-awaited fifth studio album from the Alt-Rock outfit and the first to be release since 2007’s Super Taranta!. Produced by Grammy award-winning producer Rick Rubin, Trans-Continental Hustle combines the band’s radical invocations of positive primal energy and planetary consciousness with music infused with Ska, Metal, Punk, Rap, Dub and intimations of indigenous Brazilian sounds to produce a party maelstrom of electrifying proportions. Led by revolutionary change agent and provocateur Eugene Hutz, Gogol Bordello, a nine-piece juggernaut of gypsy rebel soul, has become an international force to be reckoned with.

The Hold Steady - Heaven is Whenever (2010) |
[Apr. 22nd, 2010|12:59 am] |
Talking about the record in a press release, guitarist Tad Kubler said, “I think this is a guitar heavy record. But I would NOT say this is a heavy guitar record. The main objective being not to make the same record as the one previous. I love Boys and Girls and Stay Positive. But they have a very similar feel and sound.” He also cited jazz composer Terence Blanchard and Jon Brion as influences. Meanwhile, singer-lyricist Craig Finn calls Heaven Is Whenever “less anthemic and more complex.” Sounds like there may not be as many “whoa-oh-oh” hooks this time, eh?

| | David Bowie - I'm Deranged (edit.) | ] | Es atļāvos aizmirst šo ielikt viņa nāves dienā (zināju, ka aprīlī, bet ... man nav labi ar atmiņu pēdējā laikā, tā kā ļoti nolažoju datumu).

This is my favourite sad story, Forget me not or I'll forget myself I've got quite a few things that I'm afraid of sometimes I just can't face myself This is my favorite sad story, Forget me not or I'll forget myself. I guess I'll tuck myself away tonight, you know it's been one of those days.
Every pretty flower, every lovely flower, every deadly flower hides its light inside of shame.
I do not know why you don't know, I cannot reap what you have sown Beneath this blanket of loose soil, wrapped around my mortal coil.
Well a stem is not a rose, but that's how my garden grows. I can't see the forest for the trees, the stinking poison for disease Now it's all shot to hell and back again. I seek redemption for the same old sins and I fall on my knees, And I pray that all the poppies they they will just fade away. But fields of poppies they remain. That's how they found me last time, dead
This is my favorite sad story, forget me not or I'll forget myself. I've got quite a few things that I'm afraid of, sometimes I just won't face myself. This is my favorite sad story, forget me not or I'll forget myself I guess I'll just tuck myself away tonight you know its been one of those days.
Every pretty flower, every lovely flower, every deadly flower, hides its light inside of shame.
I do not know why you don't know, I cannot reap what you have sown, Beneath this blanket of loose soil, wrapped around my mortal coil.
Irises lay in spring mud, where lovers drown each other's sorrows, Where lovers dream about tomorrows. As for me I drown another kind as sadness runs course through my veins. Posie wreaths they crown me. My heart, My heart I should just fade away, fade away Like a flower... |
