Ja mūsdienu latvieša mūža ilgumam pieiet ar patiesi zinātnisku garu, tad varam par atskaites punktu paņemt, piemēram, 1984. gadu. Vidējais mūža ilgums esot bijis 69 gadi. BET, atcerieties, mums jāpieiet patiesi zinātniski un jāattiecina tā pati metodoloģija kas pret senlaiku mežoņiem. Tad nu ņemam nevis kādu selektīvu grupu, bet visus latviešus. Arī tos, kuri nav sasnieguši kādu noteiktu vecumu. Tātad - 1224.7 aborti uz 1000 izdzīvotājiem. Un, lūk, ņemot vērā visus tā laika cilvēkus, vidējais mūža ilgums 1984. gadā dzimušam latvietim ir 31 gads. Ko no tā varam secināt? Ka nekas kopš akmens laikmeta šajā jomā sevišķi nav mainījies. Un neviena 1984. gadā dzimuša latvieša mūsu vidū jau kādu laiku vairs nav.
