- Blitz used several methods to keep costs low, including limiting new finishes such as carpet to select areas where noise reduction was needed, and strategically placing small but impactful design vignettes throughout. Blitz also added rustic fixtures like the moose trophy in a nod to the traditional style of a hunting lodge bar, but updated everything with fresh colors to give the decor a modern twist.”

| 8:41a | San Francisco Offices – Pocket Change Located in San Francisco’s SOMA neighborhood, mobile rewards startup Pocket Change has recently moved into a new eye-catching office space designed by Blitz. “Large windows flood the space with natural light while brick walls add classic San Francisco charm. In designing this space to meet the team’s needs, Blitz created not only open office workspace, on-brand meeting rooms, and a dining area, but also a fully functional, custom bar that is visible to pedestrians from the street. Blitz completed the project in less than six weeks and worked with the client to keep the budget small and the impact big. The result is a functional, energetic space that feels like home to Pocket Change’s mobile, laid-back team.
Fostering a sense of community is important to the Pocket Change team. As a result, the team dines family-style in a communal dining area, and team members share desks. No one has a separate office, so Blitz added meeting rooms to accommodate conferences and the occasional need for privacy. Warm lighting, glass walls, and simple decor give these rooms an inviting appearance, while carpeting and noise-reducing materials provide the spaces with privacy. Design: Blitz

Even from the first year, Casa Lupu has become a popular alternative culture hub in Bucharest.
Calup is the newest cultural product developed by Casa Lupu. The purpose of this project is creating unique “pop-up” cultural events, inside some of the most interesting buildings of Bucharest.

The concept was to create a special place where we could the moment by ourselves. “People are surrounded by other people all day both physically and digitally and so I was looking for a way to offer a sanctuary from the world. I consider bathrooms to be the one space you can be alone so I designed this collection to provide a fresh, beautiful and solitary space where one can focus and take care of themselves.” – Marcel Wanders.
I can imagine myself relaxing in this bath collection, not only great to the body but as also for the eye. A relaxing bath with quality design.
This collection features a series of consoles and mirrors in black or white lacquered resin, with smoked glass top, clearly inspired by Baroque furniture, in clear contrast with the “pop” design of white ceramic sinks and the imposing white fiberglass bathtub which reinterprets the classic icon of the bar of soap, soft and rounded. This “soap” shape sink really materializes the idea of taking a bath in a soap bar, the ultimate idea that brought the collection to life.

| 6:29p | Bisous Les Copains – Animated Illustrations by Guillaume Kurkdjian These adorable animated gif illustrations are the what happens when the neurons & synapses fire and collide inside the brain of French designer/illustrator, photographer/animator Guillaume Kurkdjian. The project is entitled ‘Bisous les Copains’, and according to Google Translate: Bisous les copains = kisses buddies. Not fully sure what that means, but we like the sound of it! His animations feature a small character going about it’s day, but in a very different (and much more fantastical) way than we ordinary humans do. Each animation is a delight, taking us to different houses and environments, each filled with it’s own surprises.

Spotlight on SAM MC, a high end menswear label based in London. After interning with Kanye West and working with Givenchy, young ambitious designer Samuel McWilliams took over his sister Courtney McWilliams label and formed SAM MC London. He pairs his talent in graphic design with his great sense for great fabrics, along with the ability to create interesting cuts. You can see that his work at Givenchy inspired his designs a little, but he took the whole high end print streetwear thing and attached his very personal vibe to it, making it extremely unique. The collab first came about when Don P, Raekwon’s brother, hit me up about doing a project that would tie in with Rae’s album release, Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang. My brother and I grew up listening to Wu-Tang, so it was an honor to be hit up for this project. Even more than that, though, we felt almost a family connection, as brothers working on this with Raekwon and his brothers. We agreed the Pelican Belt was the perfect piece for the collaboration. Raekwon is known as Wu-Tang’s emissary of style, so we felt one of our most sophisticated and stylish pieces was only fitting. I am very proud of this project and am excited to release it to the world.”
