"Britain's economy grew unexpectedly in May, driven by a rise in doctor appointments ... according to data that could reassure the Bank of England about its plans to keep on raising interest rates.
Health services were a major driver of growth, the Office for National Statistics said, citing "a large rise in GP appointments."
I was back in the UK in April. Twice I had to get prescription drugs for my dad. The queues rolled out into the street. Both times took nearly an hour. My mum said it has been like this for months. |

The wife, offended by the spastic techno-pop of Russian neighbour, went to complain with dirty knees (the garden is to be tended with the affection - maternal - of consciousness). "Ny shto?" he answered - "I had to listen to your Ligo shit till 4 in the morning" (which was a lie - a damned lie).
The challenge accepted. She rigged up a speaker to assault him with Wagner, followed by Venom - thrash metal Venom - which resulted in his surrender. Abject surrender.

Aizsūtīju informācija, ko biju saņēmis no SPKC un VM par +Covid gadijumiem pēc vakcinācijas stāvokli, lai citi var pārbaudīt savus aprēķinus. Izskatās, pagaidām, ka, jo vairāk devas esi saņēmis, jo lielāka iespēja .... nu, visslielākais cipars/100,000 ir starp būsterētiem, tad (otrā vietā) pamatvakcinēta grupa. Trešā vietā ierindojas grupa, kura ir daļēji vakcinēti, kamēr pēdējā vietā (visszemāka +ve gadījumu skaitlis) ir mēs.
Mēs, kuri bija pietiekoši spītīgi izturēt centienus padarīt mūs par unturmenschiem. Mēs, kuri bijam pietiekoši stipri, lai izturētu spiedienus pieņemt racionāli pareizo viedokli (lai iekļautos LV gudrā, izglitotā sabiedrībā). Mēs, kuri, jūsuprāt varbūt, bijam duraki, lohi, neizglitoti kartupeļi, Gobzemu sekotāji, zombēti populisti, utt. Mēs, kuriem bija jālasa un jāklausa, ka gudra racionāla inteliģentsia atbalstīja (pasīvi vai aktīvi) likumus, kas noņēma mums tiesības strādāt daudzās sferās.
Bez mums, dargie draugi, nebūtu jums kontrolgrupa. Un, ja nebūtu kontrolas grupas, tad jūs nezinātu šo informāciju, kas vairs nav atrodama SPKC veblapā.

Read all the comments on a hit LV FB post last night. It's educational. I feel I have a better understanding of some of the various yearnings of people who would like to be known as a member of the Latvian intelligentsia (and the stitching of their opinions).

lately I have been eating in a canteen on workdays. Between the bursts of classically sculpted agitating prop (on the hour every hour), and pro-level enunciation of nothing much, the DJ will play modern pop.
Slabs of wafting commercial yearning meeting the air above the mostly middle-aged IT guys and girls scrolling their sleek stubs while working their way through generous dishes (the human chick who dispenses is great and will always ensure hands are met under the plate).
The tracks are, I have noticed (and I gave it some time) all the same in the sense that the voice is part of the machinery of the sounds - in no way distinct: it is as if the voice is generated by the very programmes used to assemble the product - there is no space between any pound of drum or pluck of bass. No words alighting from without on a keyboard line to bring forth a crack of poetry - the kind that would come from a human soul: some kind of graceless marriage of man and application, instead - over and over and over again - punctuated by the rolling consonants and vowels of a Latvian guy summoning some mutual understanding of humour - pro level - and bookmarked, like I said, by more pro Truth about events none of us know much at all about.
A while back - years ago - I drifted away from listening to NABA - they seemed to be forever playing happy robot tracks. Musical snacks for digital breakfasts. |
