I'va always thought that you can measure the tide by how far it gets up Bruninieku towards Avotu.

Has it ever been really past Čaka? Haven't been walking Bruņinieku much, but I've always had a feel it is kinda static, except for the first 2-3 houses, where the premises change every couple years.

Exactly :) Like the tidal patterns of the Riga bay, it just can't get any further up past what used to be Tutii Frutti.

As I was passing it on Wednesday, there was an open metal door near "3 vīri laivā", a bit more towards Ģertrūdes, which had written on it in chalk: tea and books!
