"The ensuing gambling scene, a stock feature of 19th-century literature, makes a demonic dance-like scherzo, before the long, sad denouement. It is not the traditionalism of Elijah Moshinsky's 1994 production that makes it such a strong vehicle for this work - traditionalism can distort dramatic structure every bit as much as radicalism. It is the fact that all elements - the garish social colours and bleak inner landscapes of Michael Yeargan's sets, Peter Hall's costumes, Nigel Leving's lighting and Matthew Barclay's choreography - underlie and reinforce the work's essential inner strengths."
Bet te var redzēt diezgan neveiklu videomontāžu no šī uzveduma dažādām ainām, ar citu dziedātāju: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RY39KrqwDnE
Iespējams, viens no satriecošākajiem operas iestudējumiem, ko jebkad esmu redzējusi. Nekad nebūtu gaidījusi, ka Traviata vēl spēj manī izraisīt tādu pārdzīvojumu.
