es tā pieņemu, ka stāstītājs ir hitruks, jo pašu filmu, kuras titru fragmentu laipni piedāvāju jums palasīšanai, nemaz neesmu vēl redzējusi.

It was 1970.

The country was upside-down
because it was Lenin's anniversary.

It was 100 years since
Lenin was born,

And every studio had to
highlight this, of course.

And I remember how the art
director of the studio begged us:

“Just do something or make up
something, it isn't hard for you…

“Make up something like the Reds
riding horses towards the Whites…

“Something! We need something!
We will pay you good”.

But we didn't do anything, we used
the “wolf and the rabbit” as a cover,

which was rather honest.

It was a way to earn a living,
I'd say, without getting dirty.

“Nu pogodi” was the most
successful film

It is still a mystery for me.

I guess, the sociologists of that time
should have studied this question.

It is very hard to say,
it is hard to analyze this.

We had a feeling that
it wasn't a well-deserved success,

because we didn't expect it,
the success was unexpected.

“Just you wait!!!”

Here you see the director
put his heart and soul into this.

He was a drinker... liked
to drink and when he was young

he was a dancer.

In every dance scene he used to
move everyone aside and do it himself.

“My dear sweetheart….

“And the tender farewell,

“And the handgrip,

“You told me goodby,

"While leaving me…”

And the art-director was
Sviatozar Rusakov,

he also was fond of the bottle
like we all used to be.

And once he told that
he was standing in a queue,

before shops opened in the
morning, in order to buy a bottle

And next to him were two guys.

One of those two who couldn't have
waited for the nip freshening said:

What does this mean:?

“The wolf is our brother,
he is a worker like we are,

“and the rabbit is an intellectual,
and no matter how hard we try

“we can't catch him".

It sounds funny maybe, but it was
a social phenomenon in a way.

Do you know what “vobla” is?
“Vobla” is a dried fish

and he wants to eat it

So he starts hitting it
in order to make it softer

and breaks everything:
he breaks the table, the chairs,

The window pane - everything!

Almost every child wanted to be
the wolf, nobody wanted to be the rabbit,

and they all drew him.

And teachers were saying that it is
immoral, it shouldn't be like this.

But he was one of us.
He was one of us.
