If it means the genus Homo, which includes our extinct cousins like the Neanderthals and several earlier species, the earliest fossils are about 2.8 million years old. If it means the hominin lineage broadly (the branch of the primate family tree that split from chimpanzees), the oldest candidate fossils are roughly 7 million years old"
