Once upon a time there was a little boy named World. World was a coldhearted and mean boy.
He hated most beautiful and lively creatures. But most of all he hated butterflies, they scared him. Their compound eyes were terrifying to him. But simultaneously he envied them their beauty and colors and the ability to fly.
So he didn't kill them. He stomped on them but not hard enough. He tore oh half of their wings, cut off their legs, but never did he take their lives. He made them suffer and watched them life with pain. Cruel was World.
Butterflies injured and afraid crawled back to their cocoons and repaired them to make shelters for themselves. That way butterflies started to live veiled from World with the cocoons, but their veiled themselves from each other too. They didn't realize that before it was too late.
They hid in their shelters and talked to each other through the thick walls of their protection. When their friends asked them - how they were they told them 'Fine.' because it was easier then explaining - the pain, the fear, the misery and hopelessness. Their started to live in a city of impregnable and "happy" butterflies, each of them seemed a superhero to another and therefore each of them were afraid to let her true feelings slip out. It was a lot like living in a nightmare that appeared scary only to you.
And butterflies continued to pretend to live like they did before, talking to friends, but saying nothing that mattered. Some of them started to realize that living with the cruel World and sharing the fear, the pain and the misery was better than hiding within the walls of their cocoons surrounded their little personal hells, but none of them could utter this thought aloud seeing no possibility of support from any other brave and "fine" creature. And their life in cocoons continued..
