18:15 - Heh, ko es atradu: Michael Raine Maida called Raine, was born on February 18, 1970 in Weston, Ontario. Raine is best known for being the lead singer of the band Our Lady Peace. They currently have 5 CDs (most to least recent) Gravity, Spiritual Machines, Happiness... Is Not A Fish You Can Catch, Clumsy and Naveed. He mainly writes lyrics about love and problems in life. The main audience for Raine's music is teens but people of all ages like his songs. Raine began writing songs for Our Lady Peace in 1992. He went to St. Catherine's private school when he was young and then All Saints High School. He later went to Ridley college and then university of Toronto to study criminology but dropped out 2 1/2 credits short of graduation to be in the band Our Lady Peace. Raine is married to another musician Chantal Kraviazuk but they do not have any children. Raine's parents are divorced and he has a brother, 18 years younger named Adam. The most recently released of Raine's songs are Innocent and Somewhere Out There from Our Lady Peace's latest CD Gravity. Some of Raine's best songs are 4 AM, Somewhere Out There and Life. The group Our Lady Peace has received many awards for their songs. The thing that stands out the most in Raine's lyrics is how real the messages are. Every song that Raine writes relates to real situations and feelings that people have. The imagery in Raine's poetry is very well done. He describes things very well and really gives you a sense of what he is feeling or thinking. Raine's songs are very different from one another in sound but they all have a very similar feeling to them which makes Our Lady Peace different from other bands that just make all their songs sound the same. Raine's choice of words is very good. He makes most of his lyrics acceptable to all ages and the ones he doesn't he makes unclear but audible to a good listener. The topics of Raine's songs are very real and some people can relate to them which gives the listener a sense of connection with the song. Somewhere Out There Last time I talked to you, you were lonely and out of place. You were looking down on me, lost out in space. Laid underneath the stars, strung out and feeling brave. The song Somewhere Out There is a very good example of Raine's work. The song is caught somewhere between being slow and upbeat giving it a very calming effect while still being a bit fast and loud at some parts. The song is full of figurative language especially metaphors, the most common one in the chorus comparing someone with a star. The song also gives some imagery, mostly having to do with sight. The topic of the song is love. In the song he loves the person that is going or gone away and he is waiting for them to come back. It is a very moving song with a lot of emotion.
