bērnībā mana labākā draudzene bija Karīna. ar vecākiem viņa runāja krieviski, bet ar mani latviski. viņai bija māsīca vārdā Miļena, man likās, ka tas nozīmē Avene. Avene katru vasaru uzradās uz īsu brīdi. viņa ceļoja no tāltālas karaļvalsts. man viņa likās tik interesanta, viņai bija zēngalviņa, nekad nebiju redzējusi mazu meiteni ar zēngalviņu. un vienmēr rozā, dzeltena vai gaiši zila kleita. un viņa nerunāja. manā uztverē viņa bija kā neparasts eņģelis, kurš ik vasaru nolaižas no sava mākoņa.
pēc tam, kad jau bijām pieaugušas, satiku viņu laikam izlaidumā un viņa runāja, turklāt ikdienišķas lietas. biju tik vīlusies, viņa izrādījās vienkārši cilvēks.
