dr. seuss "oh! the places you'll go" (izgriezums)

You will come to a place where the streets are not marked. Some windows are lighted. But mostly they’re darked. A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin! Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in? How much can you lose? How much can you win?

And if you go in, should you turn left or right…or right-and-three-quarters? Or, maybe, not quite? Or go around back and sneak in from behind? Simple it’s not, I’m afraid you will find, for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.

You can get so confused that you’ll start in to race down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space, headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.

The Waiting Place…for people just waiting.

Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come, or a plane to go or the mail to come, or the rain to go or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow or waiting around for a Yes or No or waiting for their hair to grow. Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting for wind to fly a kite or waiting around for Friday night or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil, or a Better Break or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants or a wig with curls, or Another Chance. Everyone is just waiting.

"The individual is forced to mistrust the promises of rationality of (..) institutions. As a consequence, people are thrown back onto themselves, they are alienated from expert systems but have nothing else instead. Disembedding without embedding - this is the ironic-tragic
formula for this dimension of individualisation in world risk society. For example, responsibility for the decision on genetically modified foods and their unforeseeable, unknowable long-term consequences is ultimately dumped on the so-called “responsible consumer”. The appeal to “responsibility” is the cynicism with which the institutions whitewash their own failure."

To tā uzreiz pateikt nevar. To jūs neviens nevarat pateikt, kā jūs izsīkstat. Atkalmeklēšanana laikam ir īstā dzīve, citas dzīves īstenības man nav.

Tāpēc es nebaidos par sevi.

Nebaidieties arī jūs par mani." (Imants Ziedonis)

draugiem.lv mūzikas sadaļā nejauši uzgāju raimonda tigula muzikālo darbu, kur izmantots imanta ziedoņa balss ieraksts. ziedoni jau tāpat nevar nemīlēt, bet šis... atgādināja man par to, cik skaista ir latviešu valoda. un tādu smeldzi, šķiet, nevienā citā valodā nevar izteikt. vismaz es nevarētu, nekad. jo nav tādu vārdu.
un rekur teksts.

Imanta Ziedoņa epifānija "Dziediet"

Es jums saku: dziediet! Dziediet, kad jums ir labi. Bet visvairāk dziediet, kad jātiek pāri nejēdzībai. Dziediet acīs tam, kas jūs lamā. Gavilējiet savā pārākumā, kad jūs sit.

Es to ļoti labi atceros.

"There's a Christmas tree somewhere in London with a bunch of presents underneath it that'll never be opened. And I thought, if I survive all of this, I'd go to that house, apologize to the mother there, and accept whatever punishment she chose for me. Prison...death...didn't matter. Because at least in prison and at least in death, you know, I wouldn't be in fuckin' Bruges. But then, like a flash, it came to me. And I realized, fuck man, maybe that's what hell is: the entire rest of eternity spent in fuckin' Bruges. And I really really hoped I wouldn't die. I really really hoped I wouldn't die."

what happened to us?

Add to Memories Tell A Friend
"Does this darkness have a name? This cruelty, this hatred, how did it find us? Did it steal into our lives or did we seek it out and embrace it? What happened to us that we now send our children into the world like we send young men to war, hoping for their safe return, but knowing that some would be lost along the way. When did we lose our way? Consumed by the shadows. Swallowed whole by the darkness. Does this darkness have a name? Is it your name?"
