25 Vibrant and Explosive Colorful Oil Paintings by Francoise Nielly http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/dyt/~3/MZP3e_TZ20U/ http://designyoutrust.com/?p=439365
Françoise Nielly is a French artist whose technique is crude and sophisticated, spontaneous, complex, expressive, exhibiting a brute force and a fascinating vital energy. Born in Marseille, her passion for drawing is influenced by the color and light from the sunny south coast of France where she grew up. Nielly doesn’t rely on modern technology in her art, she simply needs oil and a palette knife.

Manon Wethly – Flying Liquids http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/dyt/~3/mKc0NOd22NA/ http://designyoutrust.com/?p=439436
Manon Wethly describes herself as photographer/designer, serial instagrammer, geeky adventurer, inventor of flyingstuff and polaroidist.
She says she has her roots set in design, studying architecture, graphic design, illustration and photography. Having had the opportunity of starting as an all-round junior designer at a renowned design agency and finishing her career there, as head of design, she had all the baggage she needed to go her own way, and start a concept driven design studio for herself,Hectica, boiling more than water since 2005. Her eyes are now more than ever set on photography though, with big plans, enlarging her take in the creation or capture through a lens.
About the Flyinfstuff Project:
“My flying stuff images basically started out as Instagram posts. It is absolutely fascinating to see what kind of shape an object or liquid gets when it is ‘flying’. Clicking at exact the right second most often brings the most spectacular and surprising results. Most of them are shot with iPhone but I started to practice with bigger guns too.”

CIPEA no.4 House by AZL Architects http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/dyt/~3/8n2CO6NsgLk/ http://designyoutrust.com/?p=439484
Situated in Laoshan forest to the west of central Nanjing City, China International Practical Exhibition of Architecture (CIPEA) began in 2003 to bring twenty-four renowned international & domestic architects together onto one site. CIPEA consist of four public buildings and twenty small houses, in accordance with the brief, the houses should have at least five bedrooms, public spaces, and hospitality accommodations on 500 square meters.
The Number Four “Blockhouse” sits on a particularly valley site, nestling the house into the landscape. In the spirit of a pagoda, four cubic floors are stacked vertically, allowing for minimal site excavation and land use. The ground floor features living and dining spaces quietly enveloped in the surrounding forest and overlooking a stream, and a communal roof terrace rises to just above the trees. The roof merges into the landscape as another living space, complete with pool and wooden deck within the panorama of the forest. The geometric shape is sculpted from concrete and finished in a white protection surface.

Jay Shells and tablets with rap quotes http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/dyt/~3/F4g682gsFg8/ http://designyoutrust.com/?p=439561
New York street artist Jay Shells started a new art project “Rap-quotations” in which he goes through the city and attaches to pillars with rap quotes of the texts by hip-hop artists such as Mos Def, Jay-Z, Mobb Deep, GZA, NES, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes and others. For the first day Shells literally walked the entire city and prepositional on poles over 30 red tablets, and did it in certain places – near it with the addresses that are in most of these citations.

Stunning Illustrations by Danny O’Connor http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/dyt/~3/2nNvha5Lqxw/ http://designyoutrust.com/?p=439623 Danny O’Connor is an artist / illustrator from Liverpool, UK. His work is a celebration of contrasts focusing mainly on portraits and figures with a prevalence of opposing artistic influences. Contrasts play a big role in what this artist does, it’s probably the most resounding feature throughout all of his work in one way or another. Danny likes to mix natural flowing lines with harsh diagonals. Clean crisp areas of color with layered messy splashes of paint. Let’s take a look at some of his artworks.

Why Signage Designs Need to Comply With ADA Rules for Accessibility http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/dyt/~3/cm1QgM46J10/ http://designyoutrust.com/?p=439613 Probably one of the banes of sign designers in the US is the need for a number of signs to be compliant with ADA standards. It is a bane for some because such rules require that these signs follow certain color combinations, should use particular fonts, should have required elements on them and should have characters in sizes that are proportional to the size of the sign. In short, there are a lot of rules that need to be followed, and missing one or two of these can easily mean fines and penalties for the establishment using such signs.

“Action is the foundational key to all success.” – Pablo Picasso
“A great building must begin with the immeasurable, must go through measurable means when it is being designed, and in the end must be unmeasured.” – Louis Kahn
“In reality some images or drawings have a greater impact than many buildings that are built.” – Emilio Ambasz
“Form ever follows function.” – Louis Henry Sullivan
“A museum is a place where one should lose one’s head.” – Renzo Piano
“Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness.” – Frank Gehry

Tray Family by Johannes Fuchs http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/dyt/~3/AGUPgXKv_sc/ http://designyoutrust.com/?p=439690
Tray Family is a minimalist design created by German-based designer Johannes Fuchs. The Tray Family is a series of side tables. These tables can find their place next to the sofa, the bed or even on top of a dining table carrying fruits and nuts. The design is based on the industrial technology of three axis CNC milling, which provides the possibility to realise complex geometries in solid wood with most different contours and geometries. The table‘s soft radii and cavities underline the wood grain, they are the core of the design.

Into the Water by Yuko Shimizu http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/dyt/~3/TVsVQxOM20o/ http://designyoutrust.com/?p=439748 It’s June! It’s summer! Well, at least it is if you live in the Northern Hemisphere. Here are collection of some of the images I have created over the years in the theme of water and swimming. Whey therea are so many, you may wonder? I have serious hydrophobia. I never learned how to properly swim. I don’t even go to the beach, and I won’t go into the water that is deeper than chest level. It is, in a way, my fantasy. I can swim as much as I like in my drawing.

The Saint Laurent Paris NYC Flagship Store http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/dyt/~3/FVs8O9mIlD8/ http://designyoutrust.com/?p=439762
Saint Laurent just opened a New York flagship in SoHo today at 80 Greene Street. Under the direction of Hedi Slimane, the 4,000 square foot store features an interior concept envisioned by the mastermind himself. The interior houses the original ceiling and columns of the Greene Street Building, complemented with iconic Saint Laurent materials like black “noir soie” and white “blanc statuaire” matt finish marble. For many, marble might conjure antiquity. But Hedi Slimane has put the majestic material to thoroughly contemporary use in the new Saint Laurent Paris flagship store. Dotted throughout the store is antique furniture, personally acquired by Slimane, from early-20th-century masters — including a 1935 daybed by Jean Prouvé, metal armchairs by Jules Leleu, an oak tabouret by Pierre Legrain and a pair of Lattenstuhl chaises by Marcel Breuer — all of which speak to the heritage of the company that Yves Saint Laurent founded more than half a century ago.

Cozy Luxury Home by Cornerstone Architects http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/dyt/~3/EVK_-hrUrdo/ http://designyoutrust.com/?p=439774
The house’s beauty is influenced by the special lighting system, that adds value to the interior, bringing into the spotlight different artistic objects. The light system, in this particular case, is a powerful tool: it generates mystery, making everything look absolutely lovely in nighttime and of course, it create a more spacious environment. The interior is connected to the terrace through a glass wall, favouring a slow transition between the environments.
