Par taam skudraam, man ir kolegis (aah man nav laika rakstiit latviski shorit) -a gay colleague who put forward the same rationale for existence, when 6 tervetes into our careering conversation, this aging father of 2 (me) asked him 'what the point was for him'. I've long thought Darwinian fitness was enjoyed when we are not alone, which raises the ethical question of what you contribute, which depresses me even as I write these words.
