cita profesija, citi hobiji [May. 8th, 2021|02:57 pm]
okay - not time to rakstiit latviski - this is for those uneducated few who have sufficient ego to ask what seem normal questions.

I now know what cycle thresholds are being used (approx) for PCR tests for SARS-Cov-2 in Latvia. I had to go to some lengths. When I have got time, I will write about it in shitty Latvian with all the arrogant conclusions of a horrible person.

In the meantime, here is a link to the CDC requirements for investigating potential positive tests of vaccinated people in the US: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/downloads/Information-for-laboratories-COVID-vaccine-breakthrough-case-investigation.pdf

And here is the relevant sentence:

Clinical specimens for sequencing should have an RT-PCR Ct value ≤28.

Which means that those over 28 aren't considered sufficiently reliable, presumably.

What do you reckon they are using here in LV?
