The three states of being are alive, dead and Being Worried.
Being Worried as a separate state can be quite easily deduced both from the general descriptions of the state ("half-dead with worry", "worried to death", etc), as well as the demeanor of the people who are Truly Being Worried. In past, people Being Worried were sometimes classified as undead — nowadays, we can see that the so-called "undead" are simply people Being Too Worried to be able to die properly, thus occupying the Third State semi-permanently. |
