Ja instalē Gentoo, lai ar to strādātu - protams. Man uz Athlon-XP ir jūtama atšķirība vai tas ir Slackware ar i486 pakotnēm vai Gentoo optimizēts priekš dotā procesora.
Ja instalē Gentoo, lai iepazītos ar konfigurēšanu, etc. - nav tā vērts.
