ER22/23 EK alēle :
Foršais gēna polimorfisms, ja tev viņš nav, tad tu būsi resns, stulbs un nervozs -- izcils īpašību salikums, ko lai saka.
Certain genetic factors might also render individuals resilient to developing affective disorders. This is well illustrated by the polymorphism in the ER22/23 EK allele, which is located at the beginning of exon 2 of the GR gene. Individuals that carry this polymorphism have a healthier metabolic profile and better cognitive function than the general population147. The polymorphism is also associated with a more favourable treatment outcome in individuals with depression (E. F. van Rossum, personal communication). By contrast, individuals with other functional polymorphisms in the GR gene have more body fat, less lean mass, hypersensitive insulin secretion and increased cholesterol levels147,148. The latter group displayed an enhanced corticotropin and cortisol response to a psychosocial stressor compared with controls, which indicates a role of minor genetic variations in the GR gene on HPA regulation and related features149.
