My dear students, welcome back to our blog!

This topic has been mentioned a lot in the surveys we have asked you to complete. I am going to reveal it! Here it is. Our first topic is FREE TIME ACTIVITIES & HOBBIES.

What are you expected to do? To put it simple- tell your colleagues (peers) about what you are really interested in when the door of the school closes behind you.

Music? What genres or styles are your favourite.

Literature? (“Twilight” by Stephanie Mayer or plays of Shakespeare??? )
 
Hate reading? Then sport. What kind of sport and why? Or cars, IT, or fishing, or...

We would be glad if you write genuine information and it would be really nice if you could find a person with similar hobbies and share your experiences and reply...

Ask your teacher or find the first entry – 22nd April 2009.

    My name is John. I am 16 years old, and I live on a farm in a little village in Norway. We have pigs and cows on our farm, and also some mice-hunting cats. When I`m home from boarding school I like to chill out in front of the tv. I like to watch the Simpsons, Family guy and the 70`s show, in addition to movies. I sometimes try to make good food, and enjoy it while watching tv. But most of my spare time I spend outdoors. I do alot of timber logging during the year. I`m expected to help out on the farm, feeding the animals and so on. Sometimes it`s hard to wake up at six o`clock in the morning. In the winter I go cross country skiing and snowboarding. In the summer I go bicycling and fishing. I also like to play football, tennis, badminton and volleyball. I hate reading books, but I like reading comics.Of cours I like to listen to music, some of my favorites groups are AC/DC and Guns` and roses. Another great guitarist is Øystein Sunde, a well known norwegian artist. I don`t like death metal, gospel, opera or classical music very much.

      Hey. How are you? I saw that your spare time is a bit similar to mine J That’s great. So you like snowboarding? I just love it. But sad part is that in Latvia we have less snow in winter. It’s because the global warning. Last winter I went snowboarding just 2 times unlike 2years ago, when it was my favorite activity.
      How far from your home ir boarding school? Do you like to study there? I study in highschool, but it's only 24km from my home. By the way, I would like to move to Ireland and study there after highschool, but that’s only a unfinished thought.
      Oh,I like family guy and simpsons too. In fact I really like watch Simpsons and cook something for TV evening. In future I would like to be a cook and have a little restaurant or cafe. Have you thought about your future? About profession or dream? J
      In summer I love fishing. Great way to relax. But I am not such a good angler. Usually I rip off my bobber. In fact, I do it all the time. But it’s not a problem, I always have a backup bobber. J
      One more thing-I like Guns` and roses. Awesome band. And Highway to hell is not so bad either ;)
