Kā pastāstīja Valsts ugunsdzēsības un glābšanas dienesta (VUGD) preses pārstāve Viktorija Šembele, plkst.10.35 VUGD saņēma informāciju no Valsts policijas (VP), ka pa Daugavu peld plosts ar Brīvības pieminekļa maketu un ir nepieciešams to nogādāt krastā.

Glābēji pārgrieza virvi, ar kuru plosts bija noenkurots, nogādāja savdabīgo veidojumu krastā un nodeva to VP darbiniekiem, informēja Šembele.

Bear Island has a club for nude dippers ("Bjørnøya nakenbadeforening"), with a little over 2,000 members. To qualify for membership one has to take a naked dip (head under water) and the event must be witnessed by someone of the opposite sex. Among the members are Knut Storberget (Norwegian minister of justice), Guy Stumm and Kristin Krohn Devold (previous Norwegian minister of defence). The sea temperature is around 4°C (39°F).
