Modern journalists can't even imagine not acting like glorified hall monitors for their owners. It is completely alien to their mindset to see someone hold an in-depth conversation with a controversial figure, and allowing him to make his case in a non-soundbite format so the viewers/listeners can decide what to believe. These people are usually credentialed in journalist school (places which should not even exist), and the best they can come up with is to serve as lackeys and lapdogs. They can't conceive of having an independent thought, and when they encounter one, they are visibly disturbed. In short:
