"Ripley" is probably the most perfectly created female action character in a movie, perhaps followed by Linda Hamilton's "Sarah Connor" in Terminator. They evolved and grew with the story. No need for lines like the cringe inducing "Time to be powerful" because you watched it happen. And all without it needing to be laboriously and sanctimoniously lectured to you, hamfistedly, in the modern Hollywood manner.
